Comics Artist and Scholar
Gareth Brookes is an Eisner-nominated graphic novelist, comics scholar, printmaker, and lecturer. He studied Fine Art at Newcastle University and the Royal College of Art, and received his PhD from UAL in 2024. Known for an unconventional use of materials including embroidery, linocut, and pyrography, he has published four graphic novels with Myriad Editions including The Black Project and A Thousand Coloured Castles. He is also the organiser of the South London Comic and Zine Fair.
